ABOUT WORLD SPINE DAY
World Spine Day (WSD) is a globally recognized awareness event held annually on October 16th to highlight the importance of spinal health, prevention, and access to quality spine care. Coordinated by the World Federation of Chiropractic (WFC) and supported by numerous healthcare organizations, non-governmental organizations and even state governments, WSD seeks to educate, advocate, and engage communities worldwide.
Each year, WSD adopts a theme to drive awareness and action. For 2025, the theme "Invest in Your Spine" emphasizes the importance of proactive spinal health management through:
- Prevention - Encouraging active lifestyles, proper posture and ergonomic practices to reduce the risk of spinal disorders
- Rehabilitation - Highlighting the role of health professionals, individuals and multidisciplinary rehabilitation in managing and preventing spinal conditions
- Policy and Access - Advocating for investments in spinal health infrastructure, workforce training and equitable health care services
With back pain being the leading cause of disability worldwide, we recognize that investing in rehabilitation is not just a treatment strategy - it is a proactive and cost-effective approach to improving function, reducing pain, and enhancing quality of life.

WFC WORLD SPINE DAY COMPETITION
Every year, chiropractors around the world make a difference in their communities by raising awareness about spinal health and well-being. Through educational initiatives, events, and outreach programs, they highlight the importance of prevention, posture, and movement in maintaining a healthy spine.

To recognize and celebrate these efforts, the World Federation of Chiropractic (WFC) hosts the annual World Spine Day (WSD) Competition, generously sponsored by Foot Levelers. Open to WFC member national chiropractic associations, chiropractic educational institutions, and individual chiropractic clinics worldwide, this competition provides an opportunity to showcase World Spine Day initiatives and be rewarded for the impact made.
Participants can submit their entries by November 15, and the prize winners will be announced in the January issue of the WFC Quarterly World Report. With prizes of up to US$600, chiropractors are encouraged to share their work by submitting a brief summary of their World Spine Day event along with a collection of high-quality photos or videos to wsdcompetition@wfc.org.
All entries will be judged based on specific criteria, recognizing creativity, engagement, and the overall impact of the event. This competition not only celebrates efforts in advancing spinal health but also inspires others to take action.
