deb kopanskygiles smallDr. Deborah Kopansky-Giles, DC, FCCS(C), FICC (Hon), MSc, is a Professor at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC),Graduate Education and Research, and is staff chiropractor at the St. Michael’s Hospital, Department of Family and Community Medicine, (DFCM).  Dr. Kopansky-Giles oversaw the Division of Rehabilitation at CMCC from 1996 to 2001, including the provision of clinical care, educational programming and departmental research.  

Dr. Kopansky-Giles graduated from the University of Western Ontario with a Bachelor of Physical and Health Education in 1978 and received her Doctor of Chiropractic from CMCC in 1982.  She attained her Fellowship in Chiropractic Clinical Sciences in 1993 and completed her MSc in 2010.  She has served on the organizing committees for numerous conferences including, as Conference Co-Chair, the World Federation of Chiropractic (WFC) 10th Biennial Congress in Montreal (2009), the Bone and Joint Decade World Network meetings in Vietnam (2012) and in Brazil (2013) in addition to her role as a member of the Health Services Committee, the XVI International AIDS Conference in Toronto in 2006 which attracted over 28,000 delegates. Dr. Kopansky-Giles represents the chiropractic profession worldwide on the United Nations Bone and Joint Decade International Coordinating Council, the Canadian Chiropractic Association and on the Council of the WFC.
