SUBMISSION INFORMATION

To submit an abstract to Berlin 2019, the corresponding author must agree to the following on behalf of all authors:

• Ethics for this work was obtained or ethics are not applicable.
• All authors listed on the abstract agree to its submission.
• All authors listed on the abstract consent to publishing the abstract in electronic conference proceedings to be available publically on the internet.
• The presenter of the abstract must be an author who must also register for the conference.
• An author can be listed on any number of accepted abstracts, but any author is limited to presenting two abstracts (any combination of platform and poster).
• Non-academic entities (industry) cannot submit abstracts nor can abstracts be ghost-written by others.
• That the content of the abstract is not previously published (but can be published after submission).
• The decision of the abstract selection committee is final.
• Copyright of accepted abstracts is assigned to the WFC.
• For platform/poster submissions, the suggested headings of the abstract include: Introduction, Objective, Methods, Results, Discussion.
• For workshop submissions, the abstract should include a brief description of the proposed workshop, a list of skill-based learning objectives, an outline of the presentation, a description of the presentation team and the estimated course duration (1.5 hours suggested).

WFC - NCMIC Louis Sportelli Research Awards

The Scott Haldeman Award for Outstanding Research: All abstracts accepted for a platform presentation and that have not been previously published will be entered automatically to compete for this prestigious $10,000 award. The award will be judged on the content of the accepted abstract and its platform presentation. Winning authors will be free to publish their work in the journal of their choice with the expectation that the award be acknowledged in the published paper. For more details, check back here after being notified of your abstract’s acceptance status (by November 15). This award will be paid upon proof of the paper having “in press” status.

NCMIC New Investigator Award: All abstracts accepted for a platform presentation, that have not been previously published and whose first author is an early career researcher are eligible to compete for this $5,000 award. Early Career Researcher is defined here as a first author enrolled in a Master’s or PhD program or within 3 years of obtaining either of these graduate degrees. To apply for this award, proof of early career status must be sent to the Research Committee Chair prior to March 1, 2019. The award will be judged on the content of the accepted abstract and its platform presentation. Winning authors will be free to publish their work in the journal of their choice with the expectation that the award be acknowledged in the published paper. For more details, check back here after being notified of your abstract’s acceptance status (by November 15, 2018). This award will be paid upon proof of the paper having “in press” status.

NCMIC/JMPT Research Awards: First and Second Prize: Authors having an accepted abstract are eligible to compete for these awards totaling $7,500 and $5,000 respectively. If the abstract is accepted, interested authors must submit a full paper to the conference organizers in the format of the Journal of Manipulative and Physiological Therapeutics (JMPT). Award winners will submit their papers for consideration of publication in the JMPT. For more details, check back here after being notified of your abstract’s acceptance status (by November 15, 2018). This award will be paid upon proof of the paper having “in press” status.

IBCE Poster Awards: All accepted posters are eligible and automatically entered in the competition which includes such categories as best poster, best new investigator poster and best geographic posters.
