Scientific Awards at DC2017
With three different chiropractic meetings coming together at DC2017, the prize pool for scientific submissions will be the largest in the history of the profession! Please plan early to take advantage of the many and generous prizes offered in Washington this March!
WFC - NCMIC Louis Sportelli Research Awards
The Scott Haldeman Award for Outstanding Research: All abstracts accepted for a platform presentation and that have not been previously published will be entered automatically to compete for this prestigious $10,000 USD award. The award will be judged on the content of the accepted abstract and its platform presentation. Winning authors will be free to publish their work in the journal of their choice with the expectation that the award be acknowledged in the published paper. For more details, see the conference website if your abstract has been accepted as a platform presentation. This award will be paid upon proof of the paper having “in press” status.
NCMIC Research Awards – First and Second Prize: Authors having an accepted abstract are eligible to compete for these awards totaling $7,500 and $5,000 USD respectively. If the abstract is accepted, interested authors must submit a full paper to the conference organizers in the format of the Journal of Manipulative and Physiological Therapeutics (JMPT). Award winners will submit their papers for consideration of publication in the JMPT. For more details, see the conference website if your abstract has been accepted. This award will be paid upon proof of the paper having “in press” status.
NCMIC New Investigator Award: New investigators (enrolled in a thesis-based graduate program (Masters or PhD) or up to 5 years post-PhD) having an accepted abstract as the primary author are eligible to enter this award totaling $5,000 USD. If the abstract is accepted, interested authors must submit a full paper to the conference organizers in the format of the JMPT. The award winner will submit their paper for consideration of publication in JMPT. For more details, see the conference website if your abstract has been accepted. This award will be paid upon proof of the paper having “in press” status.
Poster Awards: Available to authors having abstracts accepted as posters presentations. All posters are eligible and automatically entered in the competition.
ACC – NBCE Awards
The ACC is proud to present 10 National Board of Chiropractic Examiners (NBCE) awards of $1,000 USD each. Seven awards will be available for clinical or basic science research and 5 for education research. Authors with an accepted abstract are eligible and may elect to enter the competition by submitting a full paper after abstract acceptance. Selected clinical/basic science papers will be published in the JMPT and educational research papers will be published in the Journal of Chiropractic Education. These awards will be paid upon proof of the paper having “in press” status. For more details on how to enter the competition, see the conference website after your abstract has been accepted.
FICS Original Research Awards
The FICS awards, generously sponsored by Life University, are for the best abstracts of up to 300 words describing original research on sports-related topics. They are:
$ 2,500 First Prize
$ 1,500 Second Prize
$ 1,000 Best Student (graduating in or after 2016)
$ 500 Best Poster
$ 500 Best Student Poster (graduating in or after 2016)
Awards will paid upon a full paper having been completed and, unless otherwise agreed, accepted for publication in Chiropractic and Manual Therapies.
