Dr Maltby has served on the Board of the WFC since 2015 and represents the WFC North America region. A strong advocate of the WFC's mission to advance awareness, utilization and integration of chiropractic internationally, he was most recently involved in a WFC initiative to support the provision of chiropractic care in the Republic of the Congo. He has also spearheaded a project to encourage sponsorship of underserved WFC Member national associations. Dr Maltby is a 1977 graduate of Palmer College of Chiropractic and has been in continuous private practice for 45 years. He is a past president of the International Chiropractors Association (ICA), serving from 2005-2009 and was the recipient of its Chiropractor of the Year Award in 2007. He also held the office of Chair of the ICA Board between 2009 and 2013. In his home state of California, Dr Maltby has served continuously on the Board of the International Chiropractors Association of California since 1986, during which time he has been recognized with multiple awards, including the DD Palmer Lifetime Achievement Award in 2013. As well as continuing to serve his community in full time practice, Dr Maltby remains active in chiropractic education, traveling across the United States to lecture on the subjects of documentation, technique application and clinical ethics. |
Dr da Silva is the elected Board representative for the WFC’s African region. Kendrah is currently serving her third term as the president of the Chiropractic Association of South Africa (CASA). Born and raised in South Africa, she spent a year working in Germany, returning to South Africa to study chiropractic at the Durban Institute of Technology. She was one of the first graduates of this program and has worked in full-time private practice Midrand, South Africa since graduating. Kendrah became involved with CASA shortly after graduation, and has served on national council level since 2000, as councilor, vice-president and president. She also qualified as a Kinesio taping instructor in 2011. She is currently a clinician, moderator and lecturer at the University of Johannesburg. During her tenure on the national council, Kendrah has become the expert on the coding systems utilized in South Africa, assisting with the WHO ICD 11 process by serving on the WFC Coding Committee. She now manages the training of chiropractors to code correctly in South Africa. Kendrah has presented widely on various platforms including at the WFC Congress, CASA National congress, African Chiropractic Federation congress, and South African Health Inquiry Commission. |
Dr Coster was appointed to the WFC Board by the Canadian Chiropractic Association, and is the current president of the New Brunswick Chiropractors' Association. He is a graduate of Macquarie University, Australia, and has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Mid-Sweden University, Östersund. Dr Coster is a strong advocate of evidence-based practice and has previously served on the Board of Chiropractic Australia. He has a particular interest in sports chiropractic and was previously a voting member of Sports Medicine Australia. |
Carlos Ayres, DC Dr Ayres was the first Latin American representative to hold the office of WFC President. He has served on the Board of the WFC since 2011. He represents the Latin American region and has previously held the Executive offices of Secretary-Treasurer, Second Vice-President and First Vice-President. Born in Lima, Peru, Carlos graduated from New York Chiropractic College in 1981 and maintained a private practice in Long Island, New York for 20 years. During that time, he served as an expert witness and Independent Medical Examiner for several insurance companies with an expertise in Workers’ Compensation and No-Fault Automobile accidents. In 2002 he moved back to his native Peru where he established a private practice. With a view to expanding chiropractic care throughout Peru, Carlos now manages several chiropractic offices in the northern and southern part of the country as well as in Peru’s capital city, Lima. Carlos has served as President of the Peruvian Association of Chiropractors since 2006. He has also served as President of the Latin American Federation of Chiropractic (FLAQ) between 2007 and 2012. He presently holds the position of International Adviser for FLAQ. Carlos’s vision is to help chiropractic to thrive in all Latin American countries and support in the development of quality, accredited chiropractic educational programs in the region. |
