Dr Katie POHLMAN DC, MS, PhD (USA)

Katherine A Pohlman is the Director of Research at Parker University. She completed her chiropractic education and a Master’s of Science in Clinical Research at Palmer College of Chiropractic in 2006 & 2010, respectively, and was awarded her PhD in 2019 from the University of Alberta in Canada. She is an expert in patient safety and the study of the effectiveness of chiropractic care in special populations including children, adolescences, pregnant/post-partum individuals, and overall women’s health. She received Researcher of the Year in 2020 from the American Chiropractic Association (ACA), was the 2023 World Congress of Women Chiropractors’ Leadership awardee, and received the NCMIC Foundation McAndrew Award in 2024. Professor Sidney RUBINSTEIN DC PhD (Netherlands)

Sidney Rubinstein is an endowed professor at the Vrije Universiteit (VU), Amsterdam, the Netherlands. He completed his chiropractic education at the Los Angeles College of Chiropractic in 1992, and was awarded his PhD in 2008 from the VU, Amsterdam. His area of expertise is systematic reviews & meta-analyses, and his area of research interest includes effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of musculoskeletal conditions, including large trials (RCTs) investigating the effects of two operative techniques in patients with lumbar hernia’s (PTED study) and the role of a current protocol in those with ankle and wrist fractures (WARRIOR Trial). His teaching responsibilities include supervision of BSc and MSc internships, and lectures at all levels of academia (BSc, MSc and post-doctoral (PhD)). Professor Richard BROWN, DC, LL.M, FRSPH (UK)
World Federation of Chiropractic
Richard Brown is the Secretary-General of the World Federation of Chiropractic. He has served in this role since 2015 and has 35 years’ experience as a chiropractor. He has a particular interest in professional standards and ethics and for many years has acted as an advisor to national chiropractic associations and as an expert witness in medicolegal matters related to healthcare regulation and medical malpractice. This experience provides a unique perspective on patient safety issues and risk management.
Cecilia BLOXOM, MA, CHE, FCPRS (Canada)
Cecilia Bloxom is a healthcare executive with 20 years of experience in building a broad network of relationships within various healthcare organizations, government agencies, and senior executives.
She is a Certified Health Executive (CHE) and a member of the Canadian College of Health Leaders. As an award-winning communicator, Cecilia is also a member of the Canadian Public Relations Society (CPRS) College of Fellows.
Cecilia dedicated 13 years to the Executive Team of the Canadian Patient Safety Institute (CPSI), where she played a crucial role in merging two national healthcare organizations to form Healthcare Excellence Canada.
Holding a Master's degree in Leadership and a degree in communications with a focus on public relations, Cecilia is a passionate communicator and leader who values complexity, relationships, and a strong sense of purpose.
Currently, Cecilia serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the Chiropractic Association of Alberta, where she leads strategic oversight for 1,200 members that focuses on integrating chiropractic care into primary healthcare.
Robyn BROWN, MBBS MRCS MSc (UK)
Miss Robyn Brown is a UK Orthopaedic Surgical Registrar. Alongside clinical practice, she drives improvements in patient safety culture and workforce welfare. She is a current NHS Patient Safety fellow and founder of ORTHO-ALERT, an award-winning national patient safety initiative promoting an open learning culture around events. As an elected British Orthopaedic Trainee Association (BOTA) Culture and Diversity champion, she is addressing bullying, undermining and incivility in the workplace. She speaks nationally on trainee wellbeing and is currently working with the Royal College of Surgeons of England (RCSEng) in developing national resources to improve trainee welfare. Her establishment of peer-led reflective sessions learning from adverse events earnt her a medical education award and membership to the Association for the study of Medical Education (ASME). Her leadership expertise has been recognised through completion of the renowned RCSEng Emerging Leaders Programme.
Christopher BURRELL, BSc, LLB, MChiro, MRes (Australia)
Chris Burrell is a senior lecturer and the current Director of Education for the Department of Chiropractic within the Faculty of Medicine, Health and Human Sciences at Macquarie University in Sydney, Australia. His Master of Research focused on the barriers and facilitators for Australian chiropractors in using an adverse event reporting system. Christopher is also keenly interested in patient safety from a professional regulation perspective. He has served on the Chiropractic Council of New South Wales for the past six years, including the last three years (2021-2024) as Deputy President.
Dr Martin CAMARA, DC (Philippines)
Martin Camara is the CEO of Intercare Chiropractic and its multidisciplinary health care centers. He is recognized as a leader in the chiropractic profession in the Philippines and internationally. He currently serves as a board member of the Philippine Institute of Traditional and Alternative Healthcare, Department of Health, Chairman of the National Certification Committee on Chiropractic, and the President of the Association of Professional Chiropractors of the Philippines.
He is also the visionary behind the Camara Institute for Chiropractic Sciences and the Philippine Chiropractic Community Health Project, both dedicated to providing access to chiropractic care and improving the well-being of Filipinos.
Dr Scott HALDEMAN, DC, MD, PhD, FRCP(C), FCCS(C), FAAN (USA)
Scott Haldeman holds faculty positions in the Department of Neurology, University of California, Irvine and the Southern California University of Health Sciences. He is Past President of the North American Spine Society and the American Back Society and Chairman Emeritus of the Research Council of the World Federation of Chiropractic. He is the founder and currently serves as President of World Spine Care and chairs the Global Spine Care Initiative, to develop evidence-informed, practical, and sustainable, spine health care models for communities around the world. He presided over The Bone and Joint Decade 2000 to 2010 Task Force on Neck Pain and Its Associated Disorders. He has published over 255 articles or book chapters and has authored or edited 8 textbooks. He received the Bone and Joint Decade Global Alliance Distinguished Service Award.
